"Free" College Prep Chemistry Online

This is a full online textbook that ads animations to help students visualize chemistry. You may leave a $20.00 payment/tip if you like the program.

This website provides the online version of An Introduction to Chemistry, which is intended for use in beginning chemistry courses that have no chemistry prerequisite. The text was written for students who want to prepare themselves for general college chemistry, for students seeking to satisfy a science requirement for graduation, and for students in health-related or other programs that require a one-semester introduction to general chemistry. No matter what a reader's goals are, this book will help them to learn the basics of chemistry.

I've also heard good things about Chemistry for Dummies

Crazy about Chromosomes?

Order the free Genome Poster, and visit the accompanying website and more

Scientists, enabled by the Human Genome Project, are churning out an unprecedented volume of data on human chromosomes and the tens of thousands of genes residing on them, many associated with genetic disorders. These data, and many Web sites on human genetic disorders, are freely accessible on the Internet.

Gene Gateway, originally designed as a Web companion to the popular Human Genome Landmarks poster, is a collection of guides and tutorials designed to help students and other novice users get started with some of the resources that make these data available to the public.

This Web site introduces various Internet tools that anyone can use to investigate genetic disorders, chromosomes, genome maps, genes, sequence data, genetic variants, and molecular structures.

Creative Kids

Using this website, your friend can make a kite and go fly it too.

Christine Nicholls, the president of Creative Kids at home says:
"Creative Kids at Home was started to encourage children to have fun and be creative without commercial influences to limit their imagination. I want our products to excite children about the possibilities of creating things from materials they already have access to. The fun will come when they can use their own imagination to power their projects."

Free Paper

We go through a lot of printer paper while homeschooling. We go through quite a bit of ink too. Did you know Office Depot will give you a ream of recyclable paper in exchange for an old ink cartridge?

When I cannot refill a cartridge anymore, I put it in a Ziploc bag, which I keep in my purse. The next time I pass by an office depot, I go in for my free paper… That is often all I get, unless they have a good discount in the clearance area.
