I can't recommend Khan Academy Enough

I have been singing the praises of Khan Academy for many years. I am going to go ahead and say it again. This site is amazing.  The few problems I had with it before (videos too quiet) software/grading intuitiveness... these things are on point now.

I just used it to help a homeschooler who was math phobic and had not really gotten past Algebra (and some Algebra 2) in one semester, this student has now mastered Geometry and Trig.  It takes time and dedication but this site sets kids up for success... and adults too.

Use it whether your kid is homeschooled or not, daily use in the summer will also keep a student from losing ground when school is not in session.  Oh, and it covers all subjects now... maybe not in full depth, but it can be a good template to follow as you home educate your kids... for free.

math4children

Math4children strives to make learning and teaching math fun.  You will find lessons for grades pre-k-7.

From the site author:

The idea to build this site came one day when he watched with pain how his elder sister tried to teach her two kids math. Jude noticed how painful the lesson was, both for the teacher and kids. He then wondered how many parents and teachers were struggling with the same problem of teaching math to children. Being a very hands-on person, he set about crafting exercises to help his sister teach the little kids. He drew inspiration from his elder brother Kisito whose kid’s website is saving teachers and parents’ lives across the globe.
Though bugged down by his lecturer job at the university he often found time to create exercises to help his sister teach the kids math.
With the remarkable progress made by his little nephews using materials he created, Jude teamed up with his brother Kisito to start www.math4children.com , with the same goal of helping parents and teachers with the daunting task of teaching math to kids.

Pre-K to age 11, Brightly Beaming Resources

This curriculum is compiled and written by a homeschooling mom, Katrina Lybbert.  From the author:

"This site has grown from my first curriculum, Letter of the Week, to now offer curriculum and resource suggestions for children from birth to age 8. I truly believe these early years lay the foundation for all future learning. Little children's young minds are like sponges ready to soak up all the wonderful information to be found in this world. By providing age appropriate activities in an environment of love and play, we can help our little ones begin a journey of life-long learning."

History for Children

History for children is a blog by a homeschooling mom. She has compiled dozens of homeschooling resources links and book reviews relating to history. This isn't exactly a curriculum, but a good place for parents to go for ideas on making history relevant.

mathebook.net new math help website

Mathebook.com is a website that helps students review math concepts at all levels.

Our website is designed to help students of different grades, starts from Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle School and High School Math.
The goal of this website is to provide new education tools to teachers, parents and off course students who can benefit from it.

Chemistry For Kids

At first glance, I thought this site was for introductory chemistry... And it is if you start here.

Upon further examination, I found a full chemistry course/ online textbook on the site here: http://www.chem4kids.com/map.html

I prefer sites designed for kids when it comes to science subjects because it discusses the concepts in a simple, easy to understand manner.
